Pipes of HVAC system. 3D Illustration. Is one room in your home an absolute meat locker, while another room could double as a sauna? Do you find yourself using extra fans or a space heater to make the temperature comfortable enough to enjoy? Are you worried all this means your house is haunted?

While some may attribute these cold and hot spots to ghosts, here at Maertin Heating and Cooling, we know the chances are much better that the cause may be poor ductwork condition or configuration. Not only does ductwork affect your temperature consistency, it also affects your utility costs and air quality. Energy Star reports that over 40% of HVAC systems don’t perform as they should due to damage, poor installation or design of the ductwork.

Your ductwork may need repair, upgrade or zoning if:

• Certain rooms are difficult to cool or heat
• Your energy bills are high
• You can hear whistling or popping, or “loud” airflow
• Ductwork leaks or sags
• Certain rooms seem stuffy and uncomfortable
• Ductwork doesn’t travel straight or looks like it’s ‘tangled’

Zoning or repairing your ductwork doesn’t have to mean pulling out everything and starting from scratch. Your Maertin HVAC professional will look at the current condition and configuration of your ductwork to find the easiest, cleanest, most cost-effective way to solve your problem. We will measure your total external static pressure (TESP), room airflow, your filter and coil pressure drop, and duct pressures. We’ll analyze your fan airflow and take the temperature of each room.

You’ll get a thorough explanation of our test results and recommendations for a more comfortable home and lower utility bills. If your present ductwork looks great, we’ll tell you that, too!

Any new ductwork design will include as many straight runs as possible, with wide radius turns when turns are necessary. All repairs will be made and joints mechanically secured with screws, and then sealed completely – all completed by HVAC professionals you know and trust.

When we’re finished, we’ll re-test and show you the new results along with the old, so you can be confident you’ve made a good decision for your family.
